Poured from the bottle into a Libbey style pilsner glass. Bottled October 12th 2022.
A clear bodied bold dark gold color, with nice highlights of fine rising and slow moving carbonation. Surprisingly not that hazy or opaque for unfiltered. Head creation is real beautiful, creamy and rich and ultra fine looking with a real bleach white presence.
Aroma provides a real nice doughy romp. Thick sensing malt with a big bready note of white bread and dough. Mild hop presence slightly herbal than floral as suggested, but the malt character is truly exceptional.
Palate is quite a bit of a surprise. Fairly light bodied in feel, but easily supportive in the palate. Quite a more bitter touch of hop, close to pepper and spice in flavor. The finish is where the beer really shines though. First swallow brings a dense rich bready mouthfeel, even almost creamy. Hop herbality gets out just a hair, but the bready finish grows with time on the aftertaste. Bakery bready in taste, almost nutty in flavor too.
Can't complain about this. There is a bit of overly hinting bitterness, but it's a small price to pay for the final payoff which is real solid.
