Hazy dull yellow to almost beige pour into a 1994 Marquette jersey pint glass. 2/5" white head. Average "haze" viscosity. Aroma pops mostly Galaxy pineapple job. Bittering hop detected aroma wise, not firmly established in the nose as SImcoe; but goes with the territory of rising up to the challenge of your rivals when you have the eye of the tiger.
The taste is a decently hoppy affair, I like what Simcoe is doing in the taste and mouthfeel. Its nice to have those tweeners sometimes, not enough bitterness makes a trubby milkshake like ipa, but a hazy body but hitting with the Simcoe hop brings it back to the realm of a more traditional American ipa. Not excessive bitterness, but you know, a way of making the alcohol hit less hard, but still having that sturdiness through a bittering hop, but still the expressive proprietary hop notes out of the Galaxy dropping some guava, passion fruit and even more pineapple notes throughout.
I see what the diesel note was about, but I agree with a previous reviewer, its like a light hit of onion powder moreso, like there was just some Nelson/Summit hop dust used.

Thin light yellow haze. Nose is orange slices and resin. Taste is fresh squeezed OJ, pineapple chunks, and grapefruit rind. Plush, tongue coating mouthfeel. Delicate lingering bitterness. Excellent and easy drinking.

Well done NEIPA. Creamy orange/yellow in appearance with a good two fingers of head that dissipates none too quickly. Bit of an oniony bite from the Galaxy hops, only a touch of grassiness from the Simcoe. Would be very happy to see this in the fridge at a cookout, but doesn't quite cross over into where I'd buy it regularly.
