Got a pour at the source, and boy was it pretty.
Pours the peak elite appearance of a west coast ipa. Amazing clarity, golden bright color, 1/2" white head and great retention despite the plethora of hop oil hitting from within. Its as close to looking perfect as one can be without actual perfection. Welcome to your interrogation, Sunday morning suspect.
The aroma is, big shock, hoppy. But it was like, the normal amount of hoppiness in the nose, and when its Nelson hops and Slice, you're thinking here it comes, oooh boy, and then no, just not really happening beyond some usual impressions of Citra hop here, just didn't push that Riwaka Nelson dank combo as expected even if the smell was normalized and decent, it just went in a different easier, direction.
The taste bounced back if you will. While nowhere near as pungent in the nose, this did drape plenty of down under hop dankness in that weed, garlic, diesel, musty grape dust kind of way. Good brisk light barley body keeps things dry and easy to drink.
I dunno, this was another really great beer that I just couldn't smell what the Rock was cooking or something, but boy she looked and tasted sexy.

Sweet tropical hoppy, a hint of white wine grape, orange citrus, and a floral piney-dank nose on this one! Taste follows with a very clean and tasty, hoppy and piney bitter finish. Really nice hop expression here...Good stuff!

This beer isn’t a monumental discovery, you know? Just like as a man, I am just a man (that happens to like beer). It’s just… not everything needs to be, or is grandiose. Again, as a man who likes beer, I like this one. But I wouldn’t give it a Nicholas Cage film-like name.
Cut! Let’s do it again.
