Crowded and busy on a July Saturday at 6:00 p.m. Indoor and outdoor seating: Bar, booths, and tables, and sports TV all indoors; tables, Adirondack chairs, and live music outdoors.
Generous beer selection, and the beers — I tasted multiple — were very good, though the colors were, um, surprising — the darkest Helles and the lightest Mexican lagers I’ve ever seen.
The food was pretty good, and more creative than typical pub fare.
Service was good.
Of the two brewpubs in this town, while I nod to the history of the other one and wasn’t able to try much of its food, if/when we return to Baraboo, this is the one we’re more likely to choose.

Nice little getaway from the Dells, located near Devil's Lake State Park. Large parking lot, two buildings. One marked brewery, one marked kitchen. Brewery side was closed on a weekday afternoon. Open and airy inside with a large patio in between the two buildings. Modern lodge atmosphere, high ceilings, tall stone fireplace. A few flatscreens behind the bar.
Beer selection was pretty good, 24 handles but fewer beers than that. Did a couple flights, enjoyed the Black IPA most out of the 10 sampled. Went for the lagers first, no repeats. Mexican lager was decent, and the mango tamarind jalapeño sour was unique. Everything else was average.
Bartender was friendly and dropped by to check on us fairly often. Did not try the food, but everything passing by looked pretty good. It was worth a stop, but i'm not sure i'd make it a destination.
