A: Pours up a mostly clear, amber golden hue with a lush, pillowy, 4-finger white head. Strong lacing.
S: Not aggressively aromatic, but toasty notes of Vienna and Munich malts are present, along with some warm biscuity aromas.
T: A pleasant sweetness is followed up by a slight toastiness and a crisp grainy note with some pleasant bitterness in the finish.
M: Crisp, sharp, dry and light in body.
O: I’m not the world’s biggest fan of Marzen, Festbier and the like, and this did not change my mind. To be clear, I don’t dislike those styles at all, but I’ve never craved any of them. That being said, this is about as perfect of an example of the style as you are likely to come across. It tastes exactly like it should taste and it is apparent that this was made with a high level of craftsmanship. This is not an innovative beer, and it is not trying to be, but if you love festbier, Marzen, Oktoberfest, and Vienna Lager styles, this is one you’ll want to seek out.
