Brewed with German malted barley and German roasted barley, and patiently lagered for 6 weeks. Notes of bittersweet chocolate and the most subtle roast. It's like the bash shell, yeah?

Picked up a 16 oz can from the Hot Spot gas station cooler on Brevard Road (NC-191) 12-5-25 for $5.39. No canning date (Sometime this fall based on Untappd CI's); consumed 2-18-26. Cold stored since purchase.
Beer poured dark brown with a very nice tan head that has some hang time.
Nose has notes of medium roasted malts and dark chocolate.
Taste is a medium roasted malt base that emits a nice chocolate flavor. Hopping is spot on as this balances out nicely in the end.
Mouthfeel is light bodied and smooth.
Overall, you can always count on a nice lager from HCB!

Appearance - The beer was deep black in color with an off-white head.
Smell - The smell of deep roasted malts radiated from the glass.
Taste - At the front, the beer was pleasantly bitter. It had notes of roasted malts and light coffee. The body seemed a bit thin, which helped contribute to the dry finish.
Mouthfeel - As previously stated, the body was a bit thin.
Overall - Another great lager from Halfway Crooks.

Appearance: Pours a very dark brown body with a goodly-sized head comprised of lightly tanned foam.
Smell: Roasted malt accentuating a light, dry coffee ground hint alongside a bit of caramel and toasted nuts. Minute touch of herbal hops.
Taste: Bready, lightly roasty with a sweet sense of dark nutty caramel and chocolate glaze, though the roastiness is appreciable and acruing, gaining some added traction with the inclusion of herbal, lightly spicy hops. Finishes semi-dry with a lingering toast-roast combination.
Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Medium carbonation.
Overall: Just a shade sweeter on the front end than I'd prefer, but otherwise a very nice, local schwartz.
