We embrace the entirety of the hop berries and the payoff is a richer and more vibrant beer overall. Greater resin content bolsters the body of the beer, giving greater mouth weight that serves as a stronger and more satisfying base on which to build the flavors and aromas. Additional plant material means more poly-phenols, a compound notably tannic and in this case, lending a fresh grassiness to the finish.

Picked up a 16 oz can from the Blue Door Bottleshop in Hendersonville on 1-27-25 for $8.00. No canning date; consumed 1-28-25.
Beer poured orange-brown with a nice white head that is leaving lacing behind.
Nose has a touch of toasted malts and some floral and fruity hops.
Taste is a pale and mild toasted malt base that is hopped by an apple and pear dominated hop. Finishes spicy, a touch of resin.
Mouthfeel is light to medium bodied and pretty smooth.
Overall, this is a bit long in the tooth, a calculated risk on my part, but have to say this is the most hop-forward Marzen i have had this fall and winter. Was not expecting a light fruit domination in the flavor but i like it!
