Canned 4/26/21
I'm honestly struggling with what this beer even is. A golden stout, adjuncted with coffee, vanilla, milk sugar, cinnamon, and banana. It's like a weird cookie in beer form. I really don't have all the much to say about it up front, but I'm going in with rather low expectations
Pours a hazy pale gold with 3 fingers of rocky white head that slowly fades to a cap and leaves decent lacing
You know, with all that's going on with this beer I expected an assault of aromas, but it is really quite understated. I'm picking up on aromas of snickerdoodle, banana, vanilla extract, and some graham cracker
This is equally bland in taste, but somehow it's also actively less exciting, as it shows its hand and comes up short, whereas the nose actually led me to think I was looking forward to something. On the front end of the sip I'm tasting acidic coffee, cinnamon, and light banana. The swallow brings notes of chalky cinnamon, bready malt, and mild vanilla
A light medium body pairs with aggressive carbonation (mostly just from the overbearing cinnamon tingle) resulting in an oddly airy beer. Finishes neutral but again ruined by the cinnamon
Listen, I know that I've uttered the word "cinnamon" many times here, but that's almost all this beer is. Unfortunately just not a good beer
