Picked this up a few weeks back up at the Bottle King in Wayne after not having a beer from Non-Sequitur in ages. Indeed, this was old but even if I had a newer can, I probably wouldn't rate this much higher as this beer was quite pedestrian for it's style.
Not the worst pour to this but as the liquid was hazy, golden, and topped off with a dense head that settled fairly quickly. A deep and rocky ring of lacing remained about a quarter of the way down the side of my pint glass with scattered, dotted suds the rest of the way down. Deep tropical fruit, white chocolate, and jack fruit in the nose as the taste had some melon, deep apricot, and Hawaiian Punch that emerged once this fully warmed up. Lots of rind and stickiness rounded out the mouthfeel as this felt as much like tropical juice as it was a beer, with the Wai Iti being the dominant hop here.
There was enough booze in this but it was recessed nicely as this went down relatively easily. Dated 4/26 with "HOWDY NEIGHBOR" written above it, there wasn't any sediment here as this aged as well as could be. While not bad, this needed more body, boldness, and bite to stand out but as it was, this was fine to kick back with on an autumn night. IPA's are a dime a dozen in these parts as this one was more run-of-the-mill more than anything else.
