Well done Coffee Imperial Stout by Kona Brewing Company. Easily my favorite KBC beer, possibly even the best Hawaiian brewed beer that uses local coffee. You'd think that since such amazing coffee is grown and roasted here, there'd be more beers with local coffee in it, but there's not. Anyway, thick black with a thick tan head. Smell is very coffee forward with hints of chocolate roasted malts. Taste is very similar, to smell, coffee runs the show here. I find that some coffee forward beers tend to have a bitter finish on them, not this one. Extremely creamy and smooth with no bitterness at all. Amazing coffee profile, it's like a cold brewed cup of Kona Coffee. Definitely worth searching out if you are on the islands around this time. It would be great if they bottled this one.
