Sun Charged is our first beer made with Solar Power. It is a light golden sun color ale with a subtle fruitiness and delicate hop aroma. A smooth, easy drinking refreshing ale. The lightly roasted aromatic malt contributes to the golden hue of this beer and also gives a slight sweetness that is balanced out by our special blend of hops.

The beer is one of the first batches made since Kona Brewing Company's completion of a 229 kW solar energy generating system installed by Sunetric, which went live in mid-August of 2010.
Suncharged Pale Ale is bright golden like the sun and fully charged in flavor with a hefty portion of citrusy hops. A ray of organic sugar was added during the brewing process, resulting in a crisp, dry, hoppy and refreshing brew.
This PV-powered pale ale will be available only at Kona Brewing Company's pubs while supplies last.

Firerock brewed using newly installed solar power.
A: Clear copper color. Poured a 2 finger creamy off-white head that slowly dissipated to a almost a 1 finger skim. Patchy lacing most of the way down.
S: Toffee and bread. A little citrus zest; a hint of caramel.
T: Sweet and malty; predominantly the toffee flavor like in the nose. Hop character is muted; primarily citrussy. Long, lingering bitter to balance.
M: Medium body. Moderate carbonation. Flavorful and balanced. Smooth and creamy.
D: Flavorful and balanced. Very drinkable.
