Rockfish Brewing Company

 

 

This tiny brewery attached to a garden supply store (for now) was a nice stop for me and a friend. The bar area only seats about two dozen people between bar and a handful of tables, but there is a small outside area for overflow. Behind the bar are 8 tap handles, and on the day we were there, they offered eight mostly distinctly different styles. The "next up" beers were fairly varied as well. I had or sampled half the beers, and all were pretty well made, with even the flavored imperial stout not being too sweet nor over-flavored.

The staff (I believe one happened to be the owner) were quite helpful and open about the brewery, giving us info about the beer as well as samples without us asking. They had flights, but indicated they also offered individual 5oz pours (the price was undisclosed and I didn't ask about half pours). We learned about a second downtown location, and they were open about the quality and makeup of their food (snack) menu.

Overall, we had an enjoyable visit and expect to visit this or their downtown location in the future.
