Poured into a Seattle Beer Week glass. Pours a medium to dark bronze amber with a two finger light khaki head with great retention and solid lacing; looks nice. Aroma of biscuit malt, citrus hops; a little earthy and mineral. Flavor is biscuit malt, citrus hops, grapefruit, lemon, a touch of pine and graham cracker; solid citrus rind bitterness in the finish. Medium bodied with moderate creaminess, nice mouth feel. Definitely a different take on the amber style. Looks ruddy, like a red ale, but the flavor is doesn't have the fruit notes of that style. Old fashioned English style biscuit malt and a bit more hop bitterness in the finish, both of which I liked. I rarely buy amber ales and more, but this one is robust, malty and has a simple, but satisfying hop profile. Not to style, but suits my tastes. Looks great.

Attractive pour with amber-brown brew topped with big suds in the PIlsner glass. Grain in the aroma with a hint of butter. Tastes of caramel, watered down, and an aspirin dissolved on the tongue. This is another Amber right out of the textbook-- musty, some sweet malt, and deeply bitter finish. It's a lot of pain on the taste buds for very little gain. Only the pleasant frothy mouthfeel is memorable. From the 16 oz can purchased at Elizabeth Station. Canned 02/06/25.
