Poured into a Seattle Beer Week glass. Pours a light to medium golden amber with a chunky three finger white head with good retention and thick lacing. Aroma of pale malt, citrus and piney hops, grapefruit, lemon, light pine and faint mixed fruit. Flavor is pale malt, grapefruit, lemon rind, pine needles and faint mixed fruit. Assertive citrus rind and pine bitterness in the finish. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess. A West Coast profile leaning heavily to citrus, but with some pine, particularly in the finish. The citrus is quite grapefruit forward, and therefore a little two dimensional. To its credit, it has a solid and satisfying deep bitterness in the finish, although it's somewhat stark due to the lighter malt and herbal hop character. Grew on me a bit as I finished the can.

Dark yellow brew with plenty of foam in the Hopleaf goblet. Aromatic with pine and lemon. Quite lively and sharp on the tongue. Taste is resiny from the start with more pine and cedar wood. Some grapefruit juice in the finish. Quite bitter, and tastes of grapefruit peel in the aftertaste. This is quite an overload of hops. Its interesting if you sip carefully, but you'd have to be totally into the bitterness to enjoy it properly. From the 16 oz can purchased at Elizabeth Station. Dated 03/28/24.
