From the half liter bottle, it pours a slightly hazy light amber color with a modest, soon diminishing, head that becomes a light ring. In the nose, I get some light grain scents. The mouth gets a slight hop hit, followed by a nice malt. Enjoyable, easy drinking brew.

Blind-tasted except for the beer's name and brewery/country, zero reviews below read (yet!)...
L- Pale gold, pours clear with a 1Cm creamy looking white head and vigorous rising CO2. [This is my trusty regular glass and the fast rising CO2 is striking]. ps 10mins later, head holds well.
S- Mild, I just get some grain.
T- Somewhat punchy trad hops into a good bready/malty taste. It's well balanced, neither dominates the other.
F- The malt level brings a roundedness. The vigorous CO2 maintain a brightness to it. Good balance.
O- I like it, has a very trad style to it, no fireworks just a very sessionable zwickl. With it's added body, for a modest 5.0%, this could make a good beer for cooler months, spring/autumn.
Review1993/scoring all done, now the reveal, I get to read the lables to see what I missed! ==> Nothing there to add.
500ml bottle BB: 30/09/2021 £2.60 Bought from TremblingMadness, York/UK as part of a large pick-your own consignment to London.

Half litre bottle poured into pint shaker.
A: Pale golden, hazy, small head which faded quickly and left some lacing.
S: Hay and sugar beat.
T: Slightly sour corky taste which gave way to sweet sugar beat.
M: Minimal carbonation, slightly thick texture.
O: A well made Franconian Zwickl, very much Zwickl rather than a Kellerbier.

500ml bottle - I've had a few of the Kellerbier side of this BA-mandated style combo, but hardly any of this one.
This beer pours a hazy, pale golden yellow colour, with four fingers of puffy, loosely foamy, and bubbly off-white head, which leaves some decent spooky woods lace around the glass as it slowly recedes.
It smells of bready and crackery pale malt, a wee bit of toasted graininess, subtle black pepper spice, even more so gasohol notes, and some plain leafy, earthy, and grassy noble hop bitters. The taste is more bready and grainy pale malt, a touch of free-range ashiness, tame pome fruit, faint earthy yeast, and more weedy, floral, and estery grassy verdant hoppiness.
The carbonation is fairly laid-back in its genteel frothiness, the body a solid medium weight, and mostly smooth, with a nice airy creaminess doing well to sidle along here. It finishes off-dry, the grainy malt and muted fruity and greenish hops carrying the day.
Overall, this is an approachable and certainly easy-drinking version of this still somewhat alien style to me - nice and malty, with an understated fruity component. Worthy of checking out, especially if you've previously 'checked out' on the beery offerings from the stoic Vaterland.

Pours a beautiful, hazed bright golden color with a fluffy big head.
Smells of herbal straw with a flowery, light hop presence among cakey sweet malts and grains.
Has s high but fitting carbonation to it, with an effervescent, very refreshing finish, showcasing its light body in a very pleasant way.
Tastes of hay, almost fruity, leaf defined hops with dry touch, coated up by toffee malts. Has a bubbly, mineralic mid palate, due to its high carbonation, while finishing softer with a great blend of crisp hops and doughy, sweeter malts.
Very well put together Zwickl, light and refreshing with a nice crispness among balancing malts.
