On-draught @ All Relation. $6 per 8oz pour.
12% ABV. "DDH IPA." "Oats, wheat, lactose, Citra, mosaic, strata and Citra cryo."
Pulpy citrus leads this mellow yet 12% ABV brew...how is this so drinkable yet so high in alcohol? It feels impossible.
Orange pulp, wheat, citrus without high acidity, tangerine. It's delectable... balanced and enjoyable and I can't believe it's 12% ABV. I mean actually...I think I'm sincerely doubting it's 12% ABV not as hyperbole but as actuality. I just take a sip and disbelieve it's truly 12%...this is dangerous if that's it's real ABV.
Refreshing...yes, I just claimed a 12% ABV ale was refreshing. Soft, smooth, wet, merely medium-bodied. Well carbonated.
It's a pricey (I)IPA with dangerous drinkability and a nice hop profile that'll fuck you up right quick if its 12% ABV claim is to be believed (I honestly think I'm starting to suspect ABV padding in their marketing... no, seriously). But it's not better than say, Racer 5 IPA, and has less hop pungency than literally every other 12% ABV (I)IPA I've ever tried. It's a wonderful experiment in hiding alcohol but take that away and...well, no, it's actually still rather good.
Look out, Parish. There's a new Sheriff in town. Luckily for Louisianans, there's room enough for the two of them.
