Nothing west coast about it, but another enjoyable hazy.

On-draught into stemware at the brewery on the night of their grand opening. No price listed on their tv menu...hm.
It's called a "westy IPA" but pours turbid and dull instead of clear and vibrant... looks unfiltered. Head is a scant ~1cm and recedes fully in less than 2 minutes. Not a great looking beer if their intent was indeed a so-called West coast IPA.
Tastes balanced and mellow albeit lacking in terms of hop pungency and depth of flavour for a style meant to showcase hops. Some vague tropical fruit, guava, Odwalla juice, berry, floral hop flavour...it has a nice hop profile but fails to showcase Centennial, Citra and Amarillo to their fullest. Indeed, Amarillo's (my favourite hop) signature resins are absent.
Mouthfeel is soft and coating. Refreshing and approachably smooth and wet. Does feel thin and weak, lacking a robust base for its hop varietals to spring from.
A drinkable and enjoyable turbid IPA, but hardly top tier (or worth $8 for a 12 oz pour). Still, it's better than the majority of IPAs I've tried from Louisiana.
