Too sweet for me, but it’s definitely a peach ring beer - alcohol is well disguised, goes down easy.

On-draught @ All Relation. $6 per 8oz pour.
"Candy IPA." "Oats, wheat, lactose, peaches, Huell Melon, Mosaic, Idaho 7 and Peach Ring Gummies." 11% ABV.
Pours a hazy dull orange. Nontransparent. Head dies within a minute, which I guess is to be expected at 11% ABV.
AROMA: Orange, tangerine, passion fruit, tropical leanings, melon, pulp. Wheat.
Mosaic's signature subtle blueberry note is absent. Promises a fruity ale with a nice hop profile and well hidden ABV.
TASTE: I get some of the peach candy gimmick, and I suppose it's well integrated. Fruity hopwise, emphasizing tropically leaning citrus fruits in addition to peach. Mango, orange, tangerine, citrus pulp, guava, passion fruit. Wheat and 2-row are all I get from the malt backbone.
The lactose seems unnecessary; this isn't too sweet per se but I'd still prefer it more bitter.
I do dig its hop profile, and it's better than most of the so-called "milkshake IPAs" floating around these days, putting lactose to better use than most and incorporating its additive surprisingly seamlessly - even if the eponymous peach ring flavour isn't expressive enough to warrant naming the beer after it.
TEXTURE: Surprisingly mellow and merely medium-bodied. ABV is dangerously well disguised...a key strength of the beer in my view. Smooth, coating, wet, approachable. Not too thick or pulpy. Perfectly carbonated.
Well executed across the board. I suppose it could be softer and more refreshing, though a gummier mouthfeel might better serve its premise.
OVERALL: It's a very competent balanced effort in a substyle I usually see executed loudly and obnoxiously. The candy gimmickry works for it and it's dangerously drinkable for its rather high ABV. Has the hop profile of a moderate IPA and the ABV of an imperial IPA, using the leavening characteristics of wheat, oats, and lactose to brilliant effect to render it more drinkable and lighter in body.
It's pretty dazzling they can execute on this level a scant 3 weeks after opening...colour me impressed.
