16 fl oz pull-tab can. Nabbed one to support these guys when I heard they were going out of business...one last overpriced pint to send them off! $4.59 USD plus tax. Yeah...that's for one can - you read that right.
"Hawaiian sunset Berliner-style ale." 6% ABV.
APPEARANCE: Hazy murky pink-brown body. ~2cm thin pinkish white head. It doesn't look great, to be honest.
AROMA: Coconut. Peach. Wheat. Sweet tropical fruit. Faint lactobacillus. Some tartness. Obvious acidity. Smells like a beach cocktail...and that's as good and/or as bad as it sounds.
Aromatic intensity is moderate.
TASTE & TEXTURE: Off-puttingly sweet and fruity with some saccharine tropical fruit flavours that just plain don't work well alongside the lactobacillus acidity and sourness. Thick and heavy with a lumpy feel to it emphasizing that chunky fruit vibe. Pineapple, coconut, old lime, apricot...it's a sludgy mess of unwelcome fruit that obscures the wheat, lacto, tartness, and acidity (or, you know, the flavours you buy a Berliner weisse for in the first place).
OVERALL: I'm all for fruited Berliner weisse biere, but this one overdoes it to the point that it isn't even really recognizably the intended style anymore. ~$5 a can for this and I'm not at a bar? No wonder All Relation failed.
Still, it's drinkable despite being an obvious mess, and I do like its mild sourness.
