Poured from can into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a clear golden amber color with a small head of puffy white foam. The head fades fast leaving a touch of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is strong of a bready and doughy smell with lots of sweet aroma of caramel and some pear and apple. Along with these smells comes a decent showing of grain and some notes of yeast and a touch of pepper.
Taste – The taste begins with a lighter bready and caramel sweet flavor mixed with some doughy tastes and a touch of pear. As the taste advances the sweeter flavors get lesser in intensity, while the graininess and some very light herbal hops get a touch stronger. Toward the end of the taste there is a light toastiness and a bit of spice that join in, leaving one with a nice smooth taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is average for a brew of only 4.9 % with a carbonation level that is rather moderate. For the style and the tastes, the feel is great making for an easy but well supported drinker.
Overall –A very flavorful and quite tasty, easy drinking Helles. Quite pleasant.

Gold color and clear. Modest head which settles to rim bubbles. A few spots for lace.
Sweet caramel aroma. Surprisingly off for the style.
Sweet caramel flavor. Much sweeter than expected. Full bodied but with an elevated effervescence. The finish is too sweet for the style but oddly the hop bitterness is also elevated. The beer, while flavorful, is a bit of a confused mess.
