Purchased fresh from the brewery on 8/3/22
Look: Only a slight haze within an otherwise golden amber color, lots of life as it should be for the style. Fat and fluffy white top hat is thick and strongly retained. Fat lace.
Nose: A wonderful herbal funk, sour greens, dry earthy notes, spicy yeast kick and sweet amber maltiness. Very authentic Belgian style aromatics here.
Feel & Flavor: Crispy, lively and light Belgian Mouthfeel. Super clean, watery but also refreshing and smooth in the finish.
Spicy and herbal Belgian yeast flavor that is not weighed down by overdone "banana and clove" yeast flavor's. Those two aspects are there in a very subtle way, with black pepper, sour veggies and crystal clear spring water otherwise.
Overall: Pretty right on style wise and really feels very Belgian Trappist authentic ( but not) . Clean and easy. This style should be very popular in this geological area with fine seafood around every corner.
