The pour from a pint can into a clear Imperial pint mug produces another one of those it won't stop growing heads. It's nearly stark white, overly foamy and it reduces unevenly and unattractively. It does leave some glass lacing, but it's uneven and unattractive. Witnessed before in other brews, this almost certainly means there was too much wheat in the wort. That almost always will hurt the overall. Finally, the vessel filled with mostly liquid, attention turns to the look. Colored yellow-amber, it's both dull and opaque. The wheat impact continurs with the aroma. The only thing there is some muted sharp hops. It has a hoppy taste, but it's annoying. Oh!, there's plenty hoppiness there, even for a hophead, but that's all. First noticed is the alcohol burn that comes with hoppy bitterness. But, a classic, or a good IPA requires a solid malt counterbalance and here, there's no malt, nor balance. The points this deserves for its hoppiness are lost because of its lack of a true IPA balance. The mouthfeel is adequate, so there's likely oats in the recipe, too. It's a shame a strongly hopped brew forgot that it takes a little more than just hops to make a great IPA.

I got a can of this beer off the single shelf from my local beer store located just around the corner. It poured a smoothy thick hazy yellow grapefruit peelish yellow with thin white head that is leaving some lace . The scent had dank fruit peel spice notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with grapefruit peel base and a dry clean bitter hop finish. The mouthfeel was fuller in body and had good carbonation. Overall it is a solid beer.

Tasted in a Spiegelau IPA glass from a one pint can on May 24, 2021. Brewed and dry-hopped with Galaxy and Strata. Look is hazy. Taste is bitter citrus fruit. Feel is medium in body.
