This one pours a very dark black color, with a small head, and not much lacing.

This smells super fantastic – there’s loads of creamy coconut, some caramelly bourbon, milk chocolate, sweet coffee, and toasted marshmallow.

This is definitely a pastry throwdown of a beer, but it’s done in a fairly well balanced way. There’s a good amount of barrel character adding caramel and oaky spice, but the star of the show is definitely the coconut. It’s that deliciously toasty and creamy coconut vibe, and melds well with the marshmallow/vanilla sweet, and some light roastiness from the coffee.

This is very creamy, and very rich, with a great drinkability, without much booziness.

There’s a lot to love here – Short Throw is under the radar and making some nice beers.

Liquid chocolate syrup. Too sweet for me.
