brewed for the local ski hill, a pretty solid hazy ipa, dense and maybe a bit heavy for all day sessioning, but fresh and well made with a great hop profile, juicy but not exclusively, minimally bitter but not at zero, and with nice grain character while remaining dry, i was impressed with the run of beers i had from these guys while i was back east. a bit starchy looking and full looking in the glass but still a bright straw yellow color to it under a half inch of white head from the tap, creamy and lasting with ring lacing on each sip. the nose here matches the taste, slight up front green character opening into kiwi, cantaloupe, and zested orange notes, a hint of pineapple, grapefruit pith, and sugar cookie, a little wintery with some wheat heft but also tropical with these hops. some oils on the palate from the hops, a light sativa fruity weed thing, key lime, tangerine, lots and lots of citrus but no burn, this is dry hop forward without being over saturated, a tough line to walk i suppose, given the rate of over hopped beers out there. this is bold but also approachable, tame on the bitterness but it still finishes with some, and it has a nice softness to it, obvious freshness, and nothing at all from the ferment, which i prefer in this style. nicely made beer, these guys are doing some real good things!
