Pours dull black with a tight, one-inch, dark chestnut head. The head settles to a thick ring of fine bubbles and a thin veil. Spotty lace is left on a Harp nonic.
The aroma has mild charred malt and burnt paper. I detected no actual coffee.
The flavor opens with light sweetness and mild bitterness. A hint of light sourness follows, as the dark roasted malt and Baker's chocolate build. Dark roasted coffee leads to a sweet finish that is mild and lingering.
It has a medium to light body with alcohol as labeled. The texture is similar to thick Jersey cotton, while the carbonation is light and soft.
This is a pleasant afternoon beer that would go well with casual conversation and a game of darts.

Pours dark. Thick tan foam. Roasted malt aroma. Mild coffee body. Light chocolate with a dry bitter finish. Good consistent flavor. Almost more of a stout than a porter. Very good.
