Bock time, let's make it Weizen. From a pint can into a clear Imperial pint glass a dark caramel colored liquid appeared. Although opaque, it's bright and not murky at all. There's plenty of carbonation, but no head. A dominant yeasty aroma is augmented only very slightly by hints of malt. The taste is somewhere between a brown ale and a sour. It's very light across the tongue, read nearly without any body. The malt brings some welcomed sweet contrast to the yeasty sour. There's absolutely no glass lacing. As the taste becomes more familiar, the malt seems to be more of a factor. It doesn't help the overall that, despite the ample carbonation, it drinks rather flatly. Obviously, this isn't a style with many to make comparisons with. It seems to be a hybrid that doesn't measure up to either of its cousins, sours, or wheat beers and Bocks.
