Ouch - it tastes like you would imagine there really no reason to stir up a beer in the flavor. It’s pretty dark and hearty and the pie effort just added to the tail here.

There's plenty of force when a pint can of this was cracked open. Poured into a clear glass liter mug, it propelled some nuttiness, but mostly just sweetness for the nose. It's supposed to mimick a dessert pie, so no harsh judgment there. Its color is dark honey-amber and it's moderately cloudy, without any head. To taste, it misses the mark. There's a reasonable amount of pecan to taste, but it's delivered in a medium far too thin to accommodate the outright sweetness this brings. The brown sugar imput could easily be confused with just plain white sugar, as the sweetness is devoid of depth, nor character. Where's the cinnamon? The pleasant pecan flavor redeems much of its shortcomings. Maybe the light mouthfeel works, considering the lack of bold pecan and cinnamon tastes. But, overall, it's just a little too sweet, a little too shallow and a little too thin to be considered worthwhile. It delivers enough pecan flavor to salvage it from being a taste disaster.
