Avidity is a red wine barrel aged brett witbier. We changed things up by using mandarin zest instead of orange peel and added lemon and lime zest for an extra citrus kick.
As soon as the beer enters the glass you’ll be hit with lots of bright citrus aromas and white pepper. A few sips in and some pineapple-y brett funk shows up. On the palate Avidity has ultra low acidity with notes of citrus (duh), white peppercorn, toasted bread and low amounts of fruity brett funk.
Avidity clocks in at a modest 6.5% ABV. It’s dry and medium bodied with tiny tingly bubbles. Like all of our mixed ferments it is bottle conditioned and best stored upright in a fridge 24 hours prior to enjoyment. We recommend serving the beer a few degrees warmer than fridge temperature.
Enjoy now or cellar for a few years.

Bottle: Poured a pale yellow color ale with a medium size white foamy head with OK retention and minimal lacing. Aroma of tart notes with light citrus notes is enjoyable. Taste is also a mix of tart notes with light oak presence and some clearly identifiable citrus notes with light acidic notes also apparent. Body is light with OK carbonation. Not bad but sour notes could be more complex and funky.
