Deep black body, capped with a fine, thick, sandy head that has good retention of several minutes.
Aroma is mild, of vanilla, chocolate, marshmallow, char.
Flavour is malt forward - pale & caramel malt, cereal, wheat - crisp and clean; the dark malt characteristics are light, of cola, burnt coffee bean. Fine, frothy carbonation, feeling full in the mouth, somewhat distracting. Medium body, high carbonation. Off-dry finish, some residual sugar. Bittering balance is mostly from the roast malt.
Not bad, but not great. Carbonation is a touch off, and wouldn't mind more roast malt flavour.

O Holy Night, O Still Night....
This one was poured into a pilsner offering minimal collar against a brown/black pour. Nose is simple malts and oats. Taste is very light and thin of dark ale. meh
