473ml can served fairly cold into a snifter glass. Allowed to warm up. Durand purchase and canned November 28, 2023.
Appearance - Virtually black with a couple of fingers of loose tan head. Pretty good head retention too. Ominous and imposing.
Smell - Lots and lots of caramel, very minimal roastiness and maybe a sprinkle of vanilla and cinnamon too. Even after warming though, not the biggest nose.
Taste - Medium-low bitterness, lots of caramel, and a little sprinkle of cinnamon. Good depth of flavor. Booze is well hidden here, but it definitely tastes like a stronger ABV brew.
Mouthfeel - Full bodied, medium-low carbonation, not as chewy as the name might suggest, but has a rich and textured feel.
Overall - Well crafted and delicious imperial stout stout that ticks all the right boxes for a true pastry stout.
