Edit/Update: Upping the score just a tad, as I have had a recent taste at Premium Draught. The diacetyl is basically not detectable anymore, which is good. Though overall, still seems to lack a little bit of character and that feeling that I want to keep coming back. Which that is pretty subjective, so its more just my own opinion. There are better Pilsner's to be had for my money.
A: Pours a clear yellow color. Lots of bubbles rising to the top with a small white cap that forms. Less than a fingers worth and recedes quickly with light lace.
S: Buttery malts in the nose, reminds me of diacetyl. Grassy, peppery hops in the finish.
T: Like the nose, I get some buttery flavors, and think it is diacetyl. European hops in the finish, with a lemon grass bitterness.
M/O: A light body that crisp carbonation. The buttery character is a bit of a detriment, but not a complete killer here. I can't say I'll be coming back to this a lot, but had to have two pints to make sure I was tasting what I was tasting. If that makes sense.
Maybe a simple diacetyl rest would help this out, but as is not one of the better Pilsner's around.
