Copenhagen 6/4 2021. 33 cl small chubby bottle from Meny, Østerfælled Torv, Kbh. Ø. As "Belgica Beer Brune". Simple transparent label with gold and light green letters stating that this is indeed a Belgian Beer (if anybody is in doubt with a beer named Belgica).
Pours clear dark brown with a red hue. Mid-sized off-white head. Settles a thin, patchy layer of foam unable of covering the surface of the beer. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is medium intense with a sweet, malty, lightly toasted odor mingling with sourish notes. Caramel and toffee. Hints of dark sugar. Light scent of sour grains and metal.
Light carbonation. Sightly thick, oily, fat, lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is medium intense with a fairly strong sweetness followed by a moderately strong sourish bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet and lingers for a while. Finish is semi-dry.
Very much on the sweet side and a bit one-dimensional. But solid.
