Birrificio Sul Mare "Balena Bianca"
from a brown glass bottle, date unknown, at "Il Desco: Cibo 4.0" in Lucca, IT on 30 November 2019
Notes: 4.8% ABV is hardly a white whale now, is it? It's a hazy golden in color beneath a short head of white foam. The aroma is lightly sweetish and wheaty with delicate phenols from a Belgian yeast strain and the typical orange peel and coriander spicing. The flavor is delicately balanced between lightly sweetish and wheaty malt, soft spice, and delicate yeasty character. It's subtly acidic. Moderately bitter but dry and softly spicy and herbal in the finish. Nicely rounded and balanced. Medium-light in body and gently crisp. Enjoyable and remarkably easy to drink.
