Tap at Lua Brewing. Poured a clear, golden yellow color with a small, off-white head of foam. It left sudsy sheets of lace. It smelled of grapefruit, pineapple, guava and toasted caramel. Sweet fruity taste with caramel, toffee and a sharp piney bitterness.

From a crowler purchased for curbside pickup 2 days ago. Beautiful! Amazing sweet tropical candied pineapple coming out of the pour. Closer examination reveals a tiny bit of booze and some vegetal notes in the aroma. Flavor is really good with massive OJ taste, but falls a bit flat in the end. No booze/warmth in the flavor and mouthfeel has some hint of it while breathing out. I was wondering how 9.5% was hidden so well, but it did show up in the end of the sip experience. Later in the pint, the booze perception is gone and it is all juice and fruit. Overall really good, though I am steering clear of beers above 7% these days.
Edit from retaste on 12/10/24, canned on 9/16/25; part of 2024 Xmas beer exchange with Todd and Grant.
Amazing appearance and aroma, booze does materialize but vegetal notes aren’t there anymore. Flavor is more pineapple and tropical with slight notes of OJ this time. Some mild cardboard-esque notes in the flavor bring the rating down. Definitely some syrupy booze in the mouthfeel, stronger this time. I moved aroma up 0.25, and flavor and feel down 0.25…still a very good beer, though still stronger than I usually reach for.

On tap. Vibrant hazy orange sunset. White heads with lace.
Very juicy, topical, and hoppy. Pineapple. Mango, orange. Tropical fruit smoothie, but tons of hops blended in. Very well done. Drinks like a double. Big fan of this one.
