As lead guitarist John Frusclante once said, "If anything unfolds, it's supposed to." What's unfolding here is no accident.
We balanced the roasted toffee body of our amber ale with a medley of hops from the Pacific Northwest, at once giving Ramparts an indulgent maltiness complemented by a dry mouthfeel, citrusy flavor, and satisfying bitterness. Ramparts, a delicately assertive Red IPA, fuses our respect for traditional ales with our thirst to explore creative, innovative beer styles.
Totally crushable, it is also complex enough to be sipped and savored. Like its namesake, Ramparts hits all the notes.

Aroma is fruit/mild tropical fruit, malts and piney/slightly vegetal hops. The flavor is fruit/citrus, malts/hint of caramel and a very piney/slightly vegetal/bitter hop finish.

Wowzers, red in color but without the egregious [I think crystal malt] flavor that turns me off! This is a kick butt IPA all the way, with circa 2005 West Coast IPA pedigree. Reminds me of old school Stone IPA in some ways. Outstanding
