Its not every day that I review a beer from a brewery that I have zero reviews for. But this is that exception to the general rule. Pacifica is one of my fave towns and team wrestling tournaments from back in the day, can't wait.gif.
Hazy ipa substyle pours hazy and yellow. 1/3" white head. Moderate haziness. The aroma kicks ass. Nelson and Riwaka doing their things, heavy diesel, gooseberry, marijuana, onion and garlic like body odor meets Summit like hop smells. Some people don't like that smell, I dunno I'm weird I guess, give me skunky lager or stinky down under hops, that's my jam I guess as the kids say in Century City. Where this had some unexpected smells was the green pepper and cucumber notes.
The taste continues to bang away on those Nelson and Riwaka notes. Its dank hoppiness. The bitterness is still right in my wheelhouse, they didn't flake and roll their wheat and oats to such a level that the beer stopped having that beeriness aspect that some hazy ipas take too far. The green pepper bangs away like there is Sabro here. I like it. While the namesake talks of Riwaka, there seems to be just as much Nelson and Sabro like impact.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
