Twisted Gingers Brewing Co. "Mayer Light"
$5/16 fl. oz. can (without production codes or freshness dating) at the brewery on 9 December 2022

Notes via stream of consciousness: A very hazy golden body with an orange sheen teems with life via a lively carbonation below a finger's width of rocky white foam. The aroma delivers grainy malt, softly floral hops, a subtle fruitiness, and a touch of yeasty sulphur. The flavor is much fuller with the sweetish and bready malt backed by yeasty sulphur right up front. The fruitiness remains, and appears to be mainly apple but with a little bit of sweet red berry added in. Some floral, grassy, and spicy hops round it out and a firm bitterness brings it to a dry conclusion. It's medium-light in body and gently effervescent and crisp on the palate. The head held up well and there was some thin but nice lacing left behind on the glass. Although the brewery lists this as "Mayer Light" it's not a "light beer" and the current label reads "Mayer blonde ale" which is more appropriate although technically it's really more of a German-style lager. In that sense the haziness is a problem although I understand that, the brewery is basically too small for filtration, and they turn beer quite quickly. The head retention and lacing could be better as well but overall it's well balanced and rounded and quite enjoyable.
