Twisted Gingers Brewing Co. "Wicked Wolf"
$5/16 fl. oz. can (without production codes or freshness dating) at the brewery on 9 December 2022
Notes via stream of consciousness: This is a limited seasonal beer for winter. It's poured an opaque black body beneath a two finger thick head of light tan foam. The aroma is piney, lightly floral, and grassy with just a touch of dark chocolate and an edge of roastiness. The flavor follows but with far more of the bittersweet chocolate of the malt. The roastiness is soft and pleasant. It's also got both golden and darker red caramel that widen the maltiness, and a delicate fruitiness that's like apples, pears, and red berries to liven it a bit. A stiff bitterness runs through it, balancing it and leading to a dry finish. It's bright and fresh, and the piney hops give it a refreshing character. It makes me think of standing in a clearing surrounded by trees halfway up a snow covered mountain. In the mouth it's medium bodied and gently crisp-then-smooth. The head has held up remarkably well and theres some great lacing left behind. Great beer!

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
