L- One of the blackest stouts I've encountered. Probably poured clear, no way of telling, even held in front of a halogen bulb. There is a very small amount of sediment left in the bottle. Carbonation = 2mm head, fades fast.
S- Toasty, smokey, charred wood.
T- Woah, it is pretty sour on the front. That goes into very pungent notes of smoke.
F- Sour with a dry feel.
O- I'm unclear what this beer is meant to be like. It's called Stout but self-describes as a 'special bitter'. Maybe it's a hipster style stout? - either way not one I'd choose again.
330ml bought for me in a tourist shop in Grasmere.
The brewery desribes this thus 'Stout – 5% special bitter, with black and crystal malts, Target, Toyomidori and Bramley hops. Hints of chocolate and orange tart. This beer is a calorie-packed bruiser, with massive body.'
