Pours a dark dark brown with 1/2 head. Good retention and good lacing. Smells of a sweet malt, but not a lot else. Fits the style. Feels smooth and crisp with low carbonation. There's an initial sweetness with a slight malt background, and then the smoke on the tip of the tongue. Overall, the smoke's not to powerful, but just in the right proportions to allow for easy drinking.

This is a pretty good offering from the Head. Solid pour dark burgundy with a creamy brown head that produced decent laces (order in room temp glass). Aroma was a tad weak, just some hints of a sweet malt base.
Quaff was good, fairly sweet, but still balanced out nicely with the hops and a light smoke kick. The entire glass goes down creamy and smooth - in fact, nice for several. Not overpowering to say the least, but Trail likes to keep the cross-over brew drinkers satisfied, and this ones works.
