Tasted in Munich 09.

Pours a very clean orange in colour, looks filtered from here. Good hard white head that lasts for decades.

Great nose of banana, passionfruit, cloves and green apples. Some other spices in there as well- perhaps cinnamon.

Light flavour that really fails to pack a punch. Similar flavours of banana and tropical fruit that drops off to a very simple citrus finish.

Good body that has full, creamy carbonation. Balanced well with the tart finish.

Not a bad beer, just lacking fullness of flavour to get higher marks. Having said that I enjoyed it and at the price will be going back for more.

Also enjoyed at the Brauereigasthof Kapplerbräu... Vom Fass, it has a slightly dark golden color, a yeasty cloudiness, and a huge whipped-up white head. The topping lasts and lasts, and sticks superbly to the glass. This Bier simply looks great! Nose is heavy on the clove, with banana lurking not too far behind. Smells almost as good as it looks. Body is in the medium range, but it's a touch rough...though this style tends to have some inherent prickliness. Flavor is clovey too, but not as heavily as in the aroma. Banana still underlies it all, with a sort of hint of apple as well. Quite appetizing, with a lingering aftertaste. Went well with my plate of Leberkäse and Kartoffelsalat. Zum Wohl!!
