Poured from the can into a Belcher nonic glass.
Deep golden hued with nice clarity and a real big rocky bright white head. Super dollop top and creamy looking with thick chunky lace.
Aroma goes a bit all over. Belgian yeast with a sharp needle hop bitterness surprisingly. Minimal hinting sugars, and some nice earthy tones and some minor hinting sweet caramel.
Palate manages a good hop presence. Heavily bitter pine mid palate with a touch of sweet malt mixed in. Hop angle gets surprisingly hot, with lots of warm bitterness. Decent backbone but lacks some Belgian sweetness to go with a large hop presence.
Very heavy pine flavor, and not much ester or candi sweetness. Still kind of fun in the realm but quite different than a standard Belgian
