Canela Madera ("Cinnamon Wood") is a Barrel-Aged Imperial Stout aged in Brazilian Amburana barrels from our friends at Old Monroe Distilling.
These rare barrels infused the stout with huge waves of warm, spicy-sweet cinnamon character, reminding us of Horchata.
We then conditioned it on Hybrid Madagascar–Mexican Cured Vanilla Beans for added depth. It’s rich and layered, with cinnamon warmth, soft creamy vanilla, dulce de leche, dark chocolate, and a roasty backbone with a decadent, long, warm, cozy finish.

Poured at fridge temp. Pours insanely thick and viscous. Zero head. The nose is really nice, but somewhat muted in my opinion. Fudge, light cinnamon, vanilla, and light bourbon.
The taste hits MUCH harder than the nose. This is where everything comes out to play. Big Amburana notes, boozy bourbon, roasted malts, vanilla, a bit of burnt wood, and slight dark-roasted coffee. Bitter roasty aftertaste.
The mouthfeel is insanely thick - thicker than most I've had. Lovely beer.
