Dark mahogany brown pour, near black and opaque in the glass; virtually no head except for a brief thin, tan, dense covering that quickly dissipated. Rich dark malt and charred grain nose; dark chocolate. Beautiful taste; milk chocolate; raisins and figs; tobacco juice; subliminal barrel wood with a slow-developing yet prominent rise of bourbon presence. Heavy body; thick and sticky; ethereal yet complementary alcohol warmth.
This well-balanced, deep and complex barrel aged imperial stout kills it! I have never heard of Remus bourbon, but the barrel aging acumen of Millpond has produced quite the beer. Exquisite.
