Introducing the 2026 release of our beloved Richard Barrel-Aged Imperial Stout!
The 5th annual release of our flagship non-adjunct Barrel-Aged Imperial Stout rested for 15 months in a singular vessel with a layered history: a barrel that first matured premium bourbon, then served as the aging home for maple syrup!

Aroma: Rich dark chocolate and espresso immediately greet the nose, followed by the distinct, smooth sweetness of maple-infused bourbon. Underlying aromas of vanilla bean, charred oak, and toffee.

Tasting Notes: Complex and viscous, starting with layers of dark fudge, roasted malts, and espresso. The mid-palate transitions from bittersweet chocolate into the unique character of the barrel offering natural maple sweetness and caramelized sugar without the use of adjuncts. The finish is long and refined, where the bourbon warmth complements the stout’s robust, silky character and lingering notes of toasted oak.

Small pour at the brewery. Poured an opaque, jet-black color with a small, light brown head of foam. It left sticky patches of lace on the glass. It smelled of syrupy maple, bourbon, oak, vanilla and chocolate. It tasted of sweet maple, chocolate and toffee. Barrel brings in the boozy, bourbon and vanilla flavors.
