200ml keg from Cerveja Canil Baixa, Lisbon (€3.60):
Jet black, opaque & topped with a thin, foamy surface lacing that's tan brown & slightly thicker around the circumference. The nose is very rich & chocolatey with dark fruits, raisin, dates, prunes & a strong caramel sweetness. The taste is similar, lots of chocolate malts & caramel sweetness with dates & dark fruits dominating but it's quite rich & dark. It's full-bodied with lightish carbonation & a smooth feel that's pretty sweet but very boozy & warming towards the end. Pretty good without being a classic for the style.
