Appearance: Rich dark brown with ruby highlights. Thin off white head with poor retention.

Aroma: Rich dark fruit, malty, wood, whisky. Alcohol strong but not over powering.

Flavor: Malty and sweet. Dark fruit, some chocolate notes. Drying on the back end. Moderate bitterness.

Mouthfeel: Full bodied, slick & oily. Warming. Long sweet finish. Low carbonation.

Overall: This is NoFo's King's Way aged 18 months in Rye whisky barrels. It's a huge barleywine. Quite sweet, boarder line cloying but bitterness and alcohol cuts through that enough. It's very warming. Rye barrel aging adds extra early, old world dimension to it. Definitely intended for sipping, not drinking. Aging a couple of bottles to see how it ages.
