Bailey Boy is our 6.5% Brown Ale Brewed with two row, biscuit, pale chocolate and caramel malts, with centennial hops. During conditioning we infused a coffee blend from the Peruvian highlands and the Oaxaca region of Southern Mexico sourced from and roasted by our good friends at Acadia Coffee Company and in Bar Harbor, Maine. This process resulted in a beer with rich chocolate and toffee flavors. Enjoy!

The Bailey Boy pours beautifully from its can - so good I took a photo. The mouthfeel is correspondingly luxurious. But this is where the magic ends. The flavor is dominated by dark, over-extracted coffee, giving the bitterness of an IPA without the floral aroma or complex aftertaste. Given the other complimentary reviews of Bailey Boy and other great beers Blaze has on tap, I can“t help wondering if I just got a bad batch.

A: The beer is very dark brown in color (black when viewed from afar). It poured with a short off white head that left a thin collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of nutty malts are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell and has a bit of sweetness with notes of coffee beans in the finish.
M: It feels medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is very easy to drink and has a nice contrast between the sweetness and flavors of coffee beans.

Rich chocolate and coffee, a great change up for a brown ale!

Dark brown color where no light passes through the edge, but it's not approaching black. Small head and no lace on the glass.
Plenty of powdered cocoa sweetness to the nose.
Smooth and rich, particularly for a Brown Ale, this beer belies the traditional style in a very good way. There's plentiful semisweet chocolate. Light hop balancing.
