16oz can picked up at The Beermongers in Portland, OR; first experience w/ Blaze Brewing
Poured into an Allagash tulip
Pours a beautiful hazy deep orange/gold color with a 2f creamy slightly off-white head; a great juicy tropical fruit and banana aroma leads to a pleasant but mellow profile; tropical and stone fruit over a fairly neutral malt backbone; med-bodied w/ med carb; decent overall, but aside from the nose, not super memorable

Picked this up this week at Gary’s in Wayne as it was available via a single can. This was a pretty typical American IPA that was full-bodied and easy to drink without anything in particular being memorable about it, as the hop profile was relatively straightforward and typical.
This beer was chalky, blonde, and topped off with quite a head that took quite a while to settle down. The top of that was quite spongy but surprisingly, there wasn't any lacing left behind as I sipped this as only a few spotty bubbles remained near the top of my pint glass. Lots of wheat, tangerine, melon, and peach in the nose as the taste was just as tangy, with quite a burn in the back. That was in large part to the fair amount of dark sediment in the liquid, even after swirling much of it out. Enough of the self-described flesh, combined with the wheat, made this feel a bit heavier than it should have been, as the carbonation could have been more lively.
Couldn't read the date on the bottom of the can as I had no idea how old this was. Loved the label and I might have loved this had it been on tap or had legible print. Worth a go to kick back with but not for a second go-around...

Poured from a can into a wine glass. Beer is a hazy dark straw color. Not much of a head. Dank tropical aroma: pineapple and guava. Taste is heavy and bitter, with more tropical fruit notes. Mouthfeel is sturdy with a little alcohol warming. Overall a very solid IPA. A little uni-dimensional -- heavy and bitter/tropical -- but not in a bad way at all.
