The bottom of the can says: "CANNED ON 10/14/21 08:" and the rest of the date code is stamped over itself and illegible. The beer is nearly a year old but was put on the shelf with the other new fall beers.
Appearance: The body of the beer is a dark brown color with a bit of a dark red hue. It is slightly hazy but it is only barely noticeable through the dark body. The head is medium-short sized with an eggshell white color. The head has a somewhat foamy appearance with some popping larger bubbles on the surface. It fades out slowly leaving no lacing.
Aroma: There is a carbonic aroma with a light touch of cola and a very light hint of caramel. Not much aroma overall.
Taste: It starts out slightly fruity with a bit of cherry character and a hint of plum. There is some caramel in the middle of the palate that tastes a bit watered down. Nothing really changes at the back of the palate. The aftertaste has a bit of banana chip and banana but it is very light.
Mouthfeel: It on the upper edge of light bodied and it finishes wet. There is no real bitterness so the beer leans a bit on the sweeter side, although the sweetness is very light.
Overall: The beer as a whole felt like it had some imperfections in the flavor and aroma where it wasn't as clean as you would want. It is still drinkable but it has this awkwardness that makes it a one-and-done. I am not likely to buy it again or recommend it.

The pour is a mahogany color with a light amount of carbonation. The taste is roasted malt, caramel, & pumpernickel bread. Cheers! B
